Generic charging cables can be hit or miss, it's just a fact. However, this charging cable really delivers. My daughter has an Android phone and an iPod Nano, she was my target reviewer for this item. She was constantly changing cables out of the charging base to charge one or the other. She takes both items to school, one for emergencies and one to listen to music on the bus, and wears the batteries down almost daily. This cable is perfect for her. It not only allows her to charge both items, but it does so very quickly.
1) 1hr plugged into this little cord and her items are at 100%! (I made sure they were dead first just to get an accurate time frame.)
2) I also love that the cord is flat. She is pretty rough on cords and they end up breaking from being wrapped long before they wear out. The flat cord lessens the likelihood of wearing out and breaking.
3) The end caps are great for keeping dust out when not in use. However, she is a teenager and I expect her to lose those before too long. I really wish they stayed attached by a string or something similar.
4) The 3ft cord is kind of short in retrospect. Since my husband loves the cord as well, he may take this one for his truck and I'll be looking for the same cord but just longer.
So, if you have both types of devices and are tired of multiple cords, this is the charging cable for you!!
